MEDFORD - The Tufts University men's squash team opened up the brand new Tufts Squash Center in style as they rolled to a 9-0 victory over visiting Connecticut College.

The #24 Jumbos had an impressive afternoon as they were able to win eight matches in three sets. Tufts improves to 4-6 on the season while Connecticut College falls to 7-8.
In the first slot freshman Kunal Valia starting things off for the Jumbos with a competitive 11-6,11-5,11-8 win. Senior Raghav Kumar at #2, freshman Sanjeev Jeyabalan at #3, and sophomore Marco Rodriguez at #4 all posted similar scores and continued the sweep for the Jumbos. At #5 sophomore Konrad LaDow would have to battle in the first set, but was able to secure the win for Tufts with scores of 13-11, 11-4, 11-6. Other three-set wins were made at #6 by sophomore Dillon O'Shea 11-4, 11-5,11-9, freshman Vivaan Jaikishan 11-2,11-4,11-6 at #7, and senior Connor Wind 11-7, 11-1,11-1 in the eight slot.
In the only four-set match of the day senior Amun Sahrawat won the first two sets before Conn's Kunal Sheth extended the match with his 13-11 win in the third set. Sahrawat closed the match with a 11-4 victory and completed the Jumbos' 9-0 sweep.
The Jumbos will have another opportunity to enjoy their new home facility as they host #20 Middlebury at 3:00pm on Sunday. Connecticut College faces the Huskies at Northeastern today for a 5:00 pm match.
