HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Tufts men's squash team split two consolation bracket matches at the NESCAC Championships on Saturday. The ninth-seeded men were edged by tenth-seeded Connecticut College, 5-4, and then topped eleventh-seeded Wesleyan, 8-1.

The Jumbos are now 7-10 overall this year.
The day started with an edging by Connecticut College. Junior Alan Litman won a three game battle in the second spot, being John Dunham 11-6, 11-7, 11-5. In the fifth position, junior co-captain Aidan Porges needed four games to beat Dan Reisman, 11-8, 9-11, 11-3, 11-9. Freshman Aman Navani picked up a win for the Jumbos in the eighth position, beating Winston Simone in three games, 11-5, 11-7, 11-3. The last Jumbo win came from senior Josh Lee in the ninth position, as he won an epic first game 19-17, and then beat Louie Feingold in two more games, 11-2, 11-3.
Sophomore Raghav Kumar won the third game, but wasn't able to complete the comeback in the first position, falling to Alex Snape, 11-6, 11-1, 2-11, 11-9. In the third position sophomore Conner Wind took the first game in extra points, but Michael Rodriguez won the next three to win in four games, 10-12, 15-13, 11-6, 11-8. Junior Cameron Ewan also won the first game in extra points in the fourth position, but he fell in three games after that, 12-14, 11-9, 11-3, 11-3, to Scott Brown.
Freshman Daniel Hutt won the third game in the sixth positon, but wasn't able to win more than that against Sam Piller, falling 11-9, 11-3, 9-11, 11-7. In the seventh position, freshman Salik Awan fell to James Andrew, 11-7, 11-4, 11-4.
In the second match of the day the Jumbos won in eight positions, to pick up a commanding win over Wesleyan. Litman won his second match of the day, coming back after losing the first game to win in four games over Yahya Ladiwala in the second position (8-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-9). Ewan needed just three games to win in the third position over William Bienstock, 11-8, 11-7, 11-3. In the fourth position, Porges needed just three games to win over Josh Lane, 11-3, 11-8, 11-2.
Hutt dueled Kevin Le in the fifth position, picking up a five game win for the Jumbos. He won the first game in extra points, 14-12, and then the second, 11-7, to take an early lead. Le won the next two, 11-6 and 11-3 to tie the match up. The fifth game went to extra points, but Hutt came away with a 16-14 win. Awan needed just three games to pick up an 11-8, 11-6, 11-5 win over Alex Dreyfus in the sixth spot.
In the seventh position, Navani won a four-game battle with Jackson Rubinoff, 13-11, 11-8, 5-11, 11-8. Lee took on William Coburn in the eighth position and needed three games to win, 11-7, 13-11, 11-9. The last Jumbo win came from sophomore Amun Sahrawat as he picked up a commanding three game win over Prem Bunsermvicha, 11-3, 11-5, 11-5.
The days matches wrapped up the Jumbos schedule at the NESCAC Championships. They will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to MIT for a 6 pm start with the Engineers.
