HAVERFORD, Pa. – In their second match of the day the No. 28 men's squash team earned a 7-2 win over No. 29 Connecticut College on the campus of Haverford University Tuesday afternoon.
The win helps the Jumbos improve to 6-4 overall this season.
Sophomore Raghav Kumar battled Alex Snape in the first position, picking up a four game win, 11-5, 11-8, 13-15, 13-11. In the second position junior Alan Litman needed just three games to win over Michael Rodriguez (11-5, 11-2, 11-5). Sophomore Connor Wind dealt Daniel Reisman a three game loss in the fourth position.
In the fifth position junior Cameron Ewan played a close one with Scott Brown. Ewan won the first, and then the second game in extra points. But, Brown took the third and fourth games, and Ewan picked up a fifth game win for the Jumbo point (11-4, 12-10, 9-11, 5-11, 11-4). Junior co-captain Aidan Porges came back after losing the first game to beat Samuel Piller, 8-11, 11-5, 11-7, 15-13 in the sixth position.
Freshman Daniel Hutt played to extra points in the first game with Winston Simone, but he won the second two after that for the three game win in the eighth position. In the ninth spot, freshman Aman Navani also needed extra points in the first game to beat Louis Feingold, but also came away with a three game win.
Junior co-captain Brett Raskopf fell to his Camel opponent in the third position. Rookie Salik Awan played a four game battle with Andrew James in the seventh position, winning a game and taking James to extra points in two of the games he didn't win.
The Jumbos are back in action on Saturday as they take on No. 12 Western Ontario at Harvard at 4 pm.
