SCHENECTADY, NY (March 25, 2025) -- The top-ranked Tufts University men's lacrosse team saw 13 players score Tuesday evening, helping the Jumbos roll past host Union College 20-10 in non-conference play from Frank Bailey Field.
Tufts (7-0) saw the Jumbos get a career-high five goals from junior
Brooks Hauser, while senior
Kai Solomon and first-years
Nick George and
Mack Leonhartt each netted their first career goals as part of the scoring barrage.
After falling behind in the previous two outings on the road Tufts was able to push out to a quick 4-0 lead thanks to three tallies from Hauser over the first 10 minutes. Union would storm back with three goals in a minute span to make it 4-3, but junior
Ethan O'Neill scored off of a face-off to give the Jumbos a 5-3 edge going to the second quarter.
The two teams exchanged goals early in the second quarter, but junior
Beau Keough tallied off of a nice feed from
Max Ettinghausen to start a five-goal run to end the first half to put Tufts up 11-4 at the break.
The momentum continued into the second half as the Jumbos scored four goals in the first 3:29 of the third quarter to take a 15-4 lead following the fourth goal of the season from junior long-stick midfielder
Ben Frisoli.
Union (3-5) battled back to make it a seven-goal game with nine minutes to play in the fourth quarter, but senior
Callum Wood netted his first of the season followed by the milestone goals from George, Solomon and Leonhartt to finish the scoring for Tufts.
Hauser took a team-high 11 shots en route to his five goals, while Keough had four points on two goals and two assists, adding three grounders. Senior
Charlie Tagliaferri finished with two goals and two helpers, and Ettinghausen netted two scores as well.

Michael Ayers picked up a career-high nine ground balls, causing one turnover, while senior defender
Joey Waldbaum added four loose ball pickups as well. First-year
William Bonner scooped up three ground balls as well.
Senior
Parker Merril had three ground balls while winning 7-of-14 of his face-offs, and sophomore
Lucas De la Paz was 4-for-4 on draws with one ground ball. Senior
Conner Garzone stopped six shots and allowed five goals in 41:01 minutes of action, earning his seventh win of the season.
Tufts earned a 60-36 shot advantage on Tuesday, while posting a 38-19 edge in shots on goal. The Jumbos also were a perfect 25-for-25 on clear attempts, forcing Union into 28 turnovers on the night. The Jumbos moved to 7-0 for the sixth time since 2016.
Walker Popko had five points on four goals and an assist for the Garnet Chargers, and Luke McHugh won 14 of his 24 face-offs on the evening.
Tufts will have a few days off before heading to Waterville, Maine to take on Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play Saturday at 1 p.m.
