WATERVILLE, ME (March 29, 2025) -- The top-ranked Tufts University men's lacrosse team stayed unbeaten on the season Saturday afternoon, as junior
Jack Regnery returned from injury to tally a team-high four goals in a 15-7 win over host Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play from Seaverns Field.
The Jumbos (8-0, 4-0 NESCAC) were in a close battle with the host Mules (2-5, 0-5 NESCAC) through the first quarter of play, as the score was tied at two after a Bennett Goller goal from Colby with 4:34 to play in the opening frame. Regnery would net two straight goals just before the quarter break to get his hat trick on the day, sending Tufts into the second frame up 4-2.
In the second, junior
Brooks Hauser scored an unassisted tally while sophomore
Will Emsing and Regnery each tallied as well in the second to make it 7-3 Tufts at the break. The third quarter is where the Jumbos would pull away, as senior
Cam Delcristo netted his third of the season from
Ben Frisoli just 27 seconds into the half to start a three-goal run for the Jumbos to make it 10-3.
Colby made it a six-goal game at the 5:18 mark of the third quarter, but sophomore
Jackson Redd started a four-goal run highlighted by goals from
Harrison Stockdale,
Brooks Byrnes and
Callum Wood to put the game on ice.
Tufts dominated possession in the game, winning 19 of the game's 28 face-offs while also outshooting its hosts, 70-29. Tufts also doubled up the Mules in the ground ball category, 42-21, while forcing 25 turnovers by Colby.
Regnery tallied four goals and assisted on another, as the Jumbos had 11 goal scorers on the day. Junior
Beau Keough had a career-high four assists, while
Max Ettinghausen tallied twice while assisting on another goal for three points. Frisoli had a goal, assist, ground ball and two caused turnovers as well.
Senior
Parker Merril was 9-for-10 at the "X" as he also added eight ground balls, while junior
Victor Salcedo also matched Merril with a 9-for-10 day with five ground balls. Senior
George Panagopoulos scooped up two ground balls and caused one turnover.
In goal, Tufts played all five goalkeepers on the roster as
Conner Garzone stopped five shots in 45 minutes of play.

Jack Old and
Alex Dircks all also had a save in their shared fourth quarter of play.
Goller had five points in the loss for the Mules, while Gavin Rothberg led Colby with three goals. Will Heisler also made 23 saves in cage for the hosts.
Tufts will host Williams College Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. on Bello Field in their first home game since March 8.
