BOSTON, MA (February 14, 2025) - The Tufts University men's indoor track and field team sent a small contingent of runners down to Boston University for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, running in the 400, 800, 3000, 5000 and 4x400m relay.
First year
Miles Sandoski started the day with a bang in the 400m dash. He set a new personal best in the event with a 49.75 en route to a finish in 41st. Junior Cameron McLeod also set a new personal best with a 49.83 finish in 43rd place. Senior
Ethan Forde and sophomore
Brady Kamali also ran strong races, finishing with a 50.05 and 50.71 respectively. It was Kamali's first time competing in the 400.
Meba Henok, Will Cusato and
Liam Lucas all set new personal bests in the 800m run. Henok finished with a 1:54.87, Cusato was a tenth behind with a 1:54.97, and Lucas finished with a 1:56.90 in his first go at the event.
Sam Kurian also finished strong, completing the event in 1:56.89.
The 3000m run saw sophomore
Jonah Reisner set a new personal best as well, fitting in with the theme of the day. His finish in 8:17.02 earned him 156th out of a field of nearly 275 runners.
Alex Friedman also had a solid showing in the 3k, finishing with an 8:36.73.
Rounding out the day for the Jumbos was junior
Amokrane Aouchiche in the 5000m run. He finished strong by setting a new personal best in the event, finishing in 14:36.91 to improve his personal record by almost six seconds.
The Jumbos will be in action tomorrow at the Gantcher Center as they host the Tufts Stampede Open starting at 10:00 am.
