MEDFORD, MA (May 21, 2025) - The Tufts University men's track and field team picked up even more postseason honors this week as the USTFCCCA Division III All-Region honorees were announced on Tuesday, May 20.
Leading off the list of award winners is
Amokrane Aouchiche. Aouchiche was named to the All-Region team for both the 5,000m and 10,000m run. The distance runner set the second fastest time in Tufts history in the 10k, and broke his personal record in the 5k with a mark of 14:29.60.
First year
Luke Benson picked up his first All-Region honors after a stellar debut to his career. The rookie jumper was named to the All-Region team in the triple jump following a spring season that saw him land a personal best jump of 14.72m.
Calvin Cummings picked up the first All-Region honors of his career as well. The junior shined in the 3000m steeplechase, setting a new personal record of 9:19.02 at the F.I.R.E Meet at Williams.
Martin Decker earned All-Region honors following a strong season at the hammer throw. His spring was highlighted by a personal record-breaking throw of 49.36m at the NESCAC Championships.
Eric Meyer also earned All-Region honors in the hammer throw, coming after a season that saw him nearly match his personal best.
Quinn Hampson was extremely quick in the middle-distance events this season, and picked up All-Region honors for his efforts in the 1500m run. Hampson set new personal records week after week, culminating in a 3:51.21 for the fifth fastest time in Tufts program history.
Casey Lambert and
Sahr Matturi were both named to the All-Region team for the long jump. Lambert set a new personal best of 7.19m, while Matturi qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with his personal record-breaking mark of 7.34m. Matturi was also named to the All-Region team for the triple jump after also setting a personal record in that event with a 13.97m.
Cameron McLeod was named to the All-Region team for the 400m hurdles. He set a new personal record at the NESCAC Championships with a time of 53.81.
Josh Wilkie joins his teammate with the All-Region 400m hurdles honors, as he qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with his personal best time of 52.35. Wilkie also picked up All-Region honors for his efforts in the 110m hurdles.
Jonah Reisner picked up All-Region honors in the 5000m run, joining Aouchiche in the distance event award. His personal best time of 14:16.67 came in his last meet of the season at Williams.
Noah Turner is the final Jumbo to earn All-Region honors, and did so in both the 100m and 400m dashes. His personal best time in the 100m (10.61) came in the NEICAAA Championships, while his personal best time in the 400m (48.66) came in the NESCAC Championships.
