Kaiyah Corona joined the Tufts University women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2026.
Corona comes to Tufts after three seasons at Northfield Mount Hermon, where she served as an assistant coach for the girls varsity basketball program while also teaching Spanish. In her coaching role, she emphasized player development, leadership, team cohesion, practice planning, game strategy, recruiting, and supporting student-athletes in balancing their academic and athletic responsibilities. She also utilized Hudl for video evaluation and maintained regular communication with athletes, families, and school staff.
Prior to Northfield Mount Hermon, Corona gained collegiate coaching experience as a student assistant with the Dartmouth College women’s basketball program during the 2022-23 season. She assisted with practice planning and guard workouts, evaluated film using SportsCode, recorded statistics during preseason and in-season games, and assisted the coaching staff with scouting opposing teams.
Corona also brings extensive experience as a player and leader at the Division I level. She was a four-year member of the Dartmouth women’s basketball program from 2019-23 and served as team captain during the 2022-23 season. As a student-athlete, she emphasized personal growth, accountability, competitiveness, and leadership while regularly studying extensive opponent film as part of the team's scouting preparation.
In addition to her collegiate and high school coaching experience, Corona has coached youth basketball at Apollo Park in Downey, California, since 2021. She has created individualized workouts for players ages 3-13, evaluated more than 100 players for league placement, and coached teams in summer league competition. She has also worked as a summer basketball camp counselor at Windward School in Los Angeles since 2019.
Corona has continued to develop her coaching and leadership skills through professional development opportunities, including participation in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's “So You Want To Be A Coach” program in 2023 and the Strong Girls United Leadership Conference in 2025.
Corona earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Hispanic Studies from Dartmouth College in 2023. She earned a Master of Education from the University of Pennsylvania in 2025 through the UPenn Independent School Teaching Residency.
