No. 11 Tufts Women’s Squash Sweeps No. 19 Wesleyan Saturday

MEDFORD, MA (February 7, 2026) -- The No. 11 Tufts University women's squash team earned a decisive 9–0 victory over No. 19 Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon at the Tufts Squash Center. With the win, the Jumbos improved to 9-4 on the season, while the Cardinals moved to 9-5.

Tufts set the tone early, winning all nine matches in straight games and controlling play throughout the lineup. The Jumbos showcased depth and consistency, dropping just one game across the entire match.

At the top of the order, Vharsha Dinesh opened the day with a hard-fought three-game win at No. 1, edging Mira Bakshi 13-11 in the opening game before pulling away to secure the match. Dinesh has now won six straight matches for the Jumbos in dual matches. 

Sohni Vermani followed with a dominant performance at No. 2, cruising past Avika Pande without dropping a game, upping her record this season to a stellar 6-1. 

Anika Goyal battled at the No. 3 position, sweeping her action 11-2, 11-4 and 11-3, while Sejal Virk and Anika Parr delivered commanding straight-game victories at Nos. 4 and No. 5 to push Tufts comfortably ahead.

The bottom half of the lineup remained just as strong, as Sora Karanja, Mafi Pinot, Mia Kim, and Bridget Schutt all secured convincing wins to complete the sweep. Pinot was particularly sharp at No. 7, allowing just 12 total points across three games. Schutt is now 3-0 on the year and 7-1 in her career. 

Tufts will head to Dartmouth College Sunday for an important match the Big Green in Hanover, NH at 1 p.m.
