Tufts also just dropped its fourth match to Brown University, as the squad went 20-16 upping its individual bout mark to 160-89. The sabre group of Anahat Bawa, Asher Boynton, Olympe Jean and Emily Xu is also 20-7 as a weapon group this year.

Highlighting the group was the effort from Boynton, who was a strong 10-2 on the day as she improved to 61-17 on the season. Her 61 victories are the best on the Tufts fencing squad this season. She started the day with three wins over Wellesley, going 2-1 against Brown and Cornell before finishing perfect against Northwestern.

Classmate Emily Xu was 6-6 on the day, going undefeated against Cornell while tallying a 2-1 record against Brown as well. Bawa also recorded four wins on the day, highlighted by a 2-1 mark against Northwestern.

Overall, the Jumbos started the day with a tough 15-12 loss to Wellesley before dropping a 20-7 decision to Brown. The Jumbos hung in there against a strong Ivy League team in Cornell, falling 16-11 before dropping its final match of the day 19-8 to Northwestern. Northwestern was recently ranked No. 6 in the Division I Mid-season USFCA Poll, while Cornell was No. 12.

Other strong performances for Tufts included senior Karen Bei, who was honored following the matches for Senior Day, as the star epee fencer was 6-6 on the day against strong competition. Saanvi Kapoor also was solid at foil, as she was 2-1 against both Wellesley and Cornell.
