MEDFORD, MA (March 29, 2025) - The Tufts University women's outdoor track and field team fought the tough weather on the Ellis Oval as the Tufts University Snowflake Classic carried on, with the Jumbos finishing first out of 20 teams on Saturday.
Senior
Nyla Thompson kicked off the day with a second place finish in the 200m dash, as she finished with a 26.81, just a tenth off of her personal best.Â
Thompson set the tone for an incredible 800m run, with seven of eight scoring positions being occupied by Jumbos. First year
Logan Elie led the herd in first place with a 2:22.62, the 62nd best time in the NCAA Division III, followed by first year
Phoebe Bryar in second with the NCAA Division III's 62nd best time of 2:22.74. Sophomore
Eugenie Horisberger rounded out the podium positions with a third place finish in 2:24.36, followed by first year
Avery Kerr in fourth with a 2:25.84. Sophomore
Kaya West was next in fifth with a 2:25.97 with fellow sophomore
Sonia Olson just behind in sixth with a 2:26.48. Junior
Lexi Dean rounded out the points scorers with a seventh place finish in 2:27.59.
Bryar took second place in the 1500m run later in the day, finishing in a personal best time of 4:51.18. Dean was just behind her in third place with a time of 4:54.50. Her classmate Elizabeth Donahue took top spot in the 5000m run with a time of 17:48.41. Sophomore
Katya Henisz finished second in the same event with a time of 17:55.47, followed by first year
Zoe Margolies in third with an 18:08.32.Â
The 4x400m relay team of of Corso, Dean, Dolce and Elie took first place with a 4:17.50 to round out a dominant day on the track.Â
The field saw Thompson strike again as she took first place in the pole vault, matching her personal best with a 3.55m. First year
Natalie Germanov finished in second, also setting a new personal best with a 3.55m.Â
Senior
Jordan Andrew kept the strong day in the field going with a win in the long jump, finishing with a 5.36m. First year
Lauren Zipoli was just behind her in second, setting a mark of 5.10m in her Tufts debut. Junior
Tamia Dubidad also jumped to first place in the triple jump with a personal best mark of 10.75m.Â
Sophomore
Jackie Wells got a win in the shot put as she tossed a 10.83m, while first year
Julia Saporito finished in the discus with a 34.85m.
Ceci LaBarge took third in the hammer with a 42.31m and first year
Harper Danforth earned second place with a 34.72m in the javelin.Â
The Jumbos racked up an overwhelming 237 points, well in front of second place Suffolk with a 60.83. They will be back in action with a trip out west to Amherst for the Amherst College Invitational on Saturday, April 5th.
