MEDFORD, MA (October 20, 2025) -- The No. 1 ranked Tufts University men's soccer team has been playing its best soccer of the season lately, evidenced by back-to-back 2-0 wins over Amherst College and Middlebury College. Senior
Daniel Yanez scored the game-winning goal in both of the those victories, and has been named as this week's New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Soccer Player of the Week Monday.
Yanez helped top-ranked Tufts post a 2-0 week with a pair of 2-0 wins over Amherst and Middlebury. The senior tallied both game-winning goals, both from the penalty spot, to help Tufts improve to 10-1-2 on the season and 6-1-2 in the NESCAC. Yanez has scored in three straight games.
The senior becomes the first Jumbo player to earn the award since September 23 of last season when
Liam Gerken picked up the honor. He becomes the seventh Tufts player to earn the Player of the Week honor since 2021.
Tufts is off all week before Yanez and his classmates are honored for Senior Day Saturday at noon against Emerson College on Bello Field.
