MALDEN, MA (April 6, 2024) - The Tufts University men's rowing third varsity defeated Williams College and Trinity College as the Jumbos opened the Malden Racing Series for 2024 on Saturday.
Tufts' 3V8 timed 6:43.61 to take their opening race against Williams (6:51.8). In the grand final, the Jumbos defeated Trinity College 6:42.96 Â to 6:53.39. Tufts' 3V8 lined up with coxswain Lucas Renik,

In a meeting between two of the top boats in the country, the Tufts first varsity won its opening race over Williams College with a 6:22.64 time to 6:27.02 for the Ephs. However, Tufts was defeated by Trinity in the grand final 6:20.45 to 6:29.65. The Jumbo 1V8 featured coxswain

In second varsity action, Tufts was edged by Williams 6:30.09 to 6:36.95 in the opening race. The Jumbos were faster than Coast Guard in the petite final by a large margin, submitting a 6:40.45 time to 7:29.08 by the Bears. Coxswain

The deep Jumbo team also had fourth and fifth boats in action today. The fifth varsity defeated Trinity's fourth team 6:59.03 to 7:05.04 by the Bantams. The Jumbo fourth varsity won 6:52.7 to 7:17.94 against Williams. The Tufts teams then went head-to-head, with the fourth boat timing 6:43.69 to the fifth team's 7:01.28 mark. The 4V8 was coxswain
