LEWISTON, ME (January 29, 2023) -- The No. 11 Tufts University women's squash team finished New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action Sunday afternoon with another 9-0 win, this time topping No. 28 Bates College in play from Bates Squash Center.
Sunday's victory for the Jumbos (10-3, 7-1 NESCAC) was their seventh straight win, which is the longest win streak for Tufts, it's longest winning streak since starting the 2016-17 season with 12 straight victories. The Jumbos also tallied their fourth 9-0 win in the last six matches, and third this weekend after wins over Wesleyan University and Hamilton College Friday and Saturday.
Tufts lost just four games all afternoon, including 3-0 victories at No. 3 along with No. 5 through No. 9. First-year No. 1
Vharsha Dinesh won her sixth straight match over ANdrea Martagon with scores of 11-7, 11-9, 9-11 and 11-7.
Riddhi Joshi moved to 9-4 on the season with a five-game win over Aasya Patel with scores of 2-11, 11-5, 11-3, 8-11 and 11-9.
At No. 3,
Caroline Chin extended her win streak to six while moving to 9-4 in 2022-23 with a 11-7, 11-4 and 11-7 win over Erika Maria Parker-Schmidt. Sophomore
Nieve Monderer shook off a second game loss to top Grace Flaherty 11-4, 3-11, 11-0 and 11-8. Monderer is now 6-1 on the season at No. 4.

Aleezah Burhan needed only three games to earn her 10th win of the campaign with a 11-4, 11-5 and 11-8 victory at No. 5, while
Sanjana Vissapragada also allowed just 11 points in a 11-0, 11-5 and 11-6 victory. Vissapragada leads the team with a 11-2 record.
Ami Sao won her seventh consecutive match with an 11-3, 11-3, 11-2 win at No. 7, while
Ellyn Xu became Tufts' third player with 10 wins on the campaign with a 11-5, 11-5 and 11-1 win over Abigail Zerbey. At No. 9,
Kate Chang needed just 19 minutes to earn a 3, 3, 3 win over Caroline Taggart to improve to 5-1 in 2022-23.
The Jumbos are done with NESCAC regular season play, and will finish its regular season slate Tuesday, February 7 at 5 p.m. on the road at No. 2 Harvard University in play from historic Murr Center in Cambridge, MA.
