HAMILTON, NY (January 28, 2023) - First-year Quinci Wheeler had the top time in two events and added to a Jumbo 200 medley relay win on Saturday as the Tufts women's swimming & diving team defeated both Hamilton College and RPI.

The meet has held at Colgate University, where the Jumbos defeated Hamilton 153 - 83 and earned a 156 - 80 triumph against RPI.

The Jumbos started the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in a 1:47.40 time. The first-place foursome was Lily Klinginsmith, Wheeler, Katelin Isakoff and Katelin Ulmer.

Wheeler would win the 200 freestyle early in the meet with a 1:57.33 time. She later swam 2:27.25 as an exhibition in the 200 breaststroke when Tufts' lead in the meet was well in hand. The Jumbos had the best mark in all 13 events overall and swam the final four as exhibitions.

After the 200 medley relay win, Alison Cremer won for the second week in a row in the 1,000 meters (10:47.69). Following Wheeler's 200 free victory, Claire Brennan touched first in the 50 freestyle in 24.67 seconds.

Tufts swept the diving events on the day. Sydney Ho was the first of the top three Jumbo finishers with a 268.45 total in one-meter diving. Alaina Kosko was first in the three-meter event with her scores totaling to 273.65.

The top four in the 200 individual medley were all Tufts swimmers with Cierra McCarty's time of 2:12.95 leading the way. The Jumbos also had the top two in the 200 butterfly where Esme Blackstock won with a 2:10.17 and Sora Sohn was runner-up (2:13.75).

Klinginsmith joined Wheeler and Brennan in helping Tufts sweep the freestyle sprints with her 51.68 mark which won the 100 free. A 5:05.04 time in the 500 free by Madeleine Dunn helped Tufts finish as the fastest in both of the distance free events as well.

Gaurika Singh had a win in the 200 backstroke (2:11.55). Ulmer, Elle Morse, Isa Chambers and Klinginsmith then closed the meet with a 1:35.53 time to win the 200 freestyle relay.
