Box Score MEDFORD – Ten different players scored goals, including eight who tallied in multiples, as the third-ranked Tufts University women's lacrosse team defeated Connecticut College 20-3 on Saturday afternoon at Bello Field.

This was officially a non-conference game between the NESCAC schools. Claire Wright, one of eight Jumbos honored before the game on Seniors Day, and freshman Emma Joyce led Tufts (3-0) with three goals each. Junior Colette Smith scored twice and had four assists for six points. The game was the first at home for Tufts since early March 2020.
Junior Kelly Wolin led the Camels (0-3) with a goal and an assist, while freshman goalie Violette Nidds was excellent with 15 saves.
Connecticut College's Emily Yorns won the first two draw controls of the game, but Camel turnovers gave Tufts possession resulting in early goals by Emily Games and Anna Clarke. The Jumbos would get the first five goals overall and led 5-0 on Wright's first tally which was assisted by fellow senior Kirsten Grazewski at 18:04 of the first half.
Wolin put the visitors on the board at 18:45, but the Jumbos notched the next five including two on free-position shots. They were up 10-1 on senior Catherine Lawliss's strike at the 2:23 mark. Both teams scored in the final minute of the half - Hailey Fahey for Connecticut College and Lawliss again for Tufts. That left the Jumbos with an 11-2 advantage at the break. The hosts had a 28-7 margin in shots for the first 30 minutes, with Nidds making 10 stops for Conn.
Tufts junior Kathryn Delaney scored 38 seconds into the second half to put the game into running time, and it would not stop. Back-to-back goals by Wright made Tufts' lead 14-2 before Mazey Loomis took a pass from Wolin and scored at 24:52 for the Camels.
Freshman Grace Frerichs scored her first two collegiate goals for the Jumbos late in the second half.
Molly Laliberty (four saves) and Courtney Kaufman (two saves) split halves in net for Tufts. Grazewski scooped up four ground balls in addition to scoring a goal with an assist. Clarke led the winners with five draw controls.
Yorns tied Clarke by winning five draws, while Abbie Cronin collected three ground balls and caused two turnovers for the Camels.
Tufts finished with 44 shots to Connecticut College's 13. The Jumbos also won ground balls (13-9) and draws (18-7), and were 5 for 8 on free-position attempts.
