Box Score MEDFORD - The Tufts University women's lacrosse team earned its first NESCAC win in convincing style as freshman Emily Games tallied nine points to lead the Jumbos to a 17-4 win over Connecticut College on Sunday at Bello Field.

Games totaled five goals and four assists to lead the Jumbos, who improved to 4-3 overall and 1-3 in the league. Sophomore Dakota Adamec added three goals and two assists while junior Taylor Meek and sophomore Cecily Freliech also scored three times.
The Camels (1-6, 0-4 NESCAC) were paced by a goal and an assist by both sophomore Jamie Novoni and junior Annie Cornbrooks.
Tufts' Freliech scored the opening goal just 90 seconds into the contest with a strong drive to the goal. Cornbrooks equaled the score at 1-1 with an assist from Novoni at 20:40 for the Camels. From there the Jumbos would score the next eight goals of the half to lead 9-1 at intermission.
Three of Tufts' goals in the opening 30 minutes came on free-position attempts, including two by Games. She had three goals and an assist in the period, while Adamec had two and two in the first half. The Jumbos scored twice in the final minute as Games capitalized with 38 seconds on the clock, Adamec secured the ensuing draw control and then assisted on Freliech's score with 22 seconds remaining.
Novoni netted the first goal of the second half at 27:57 for Conn. However, Meek scored two of three consecutive Jumbo goals including one at 25:40 which kept the clock running as Tufts took a 12-2 lead. The Jumbos would run off six straight goals overall and led 15-2 on Games' fifth with 20:37 on the second-half clock.
Seniors Tina Balzotti and Hannah Donegan scored for the Camels in the final 15 minutes, but the Jumbos finished off their dominating victory with an Adamec goal at the seven-minute mark.
The Jumbos had a huge advantage in possession, winning 16 of 23 draw controls including five by Adamec and four by freshman Lily Baldwin. That helped the Jumbos out-shoot the Camels 37-13. Sophomore goalie Audrey Evers made six saves for Tufts, five in the first half. Senior Olivia Veillette caused two turnovers.
Novoni also won three draw controls, picked up two groundballs and caused a turnover for the visitors. Junior Megan Mullin started in goal and made seven saves in the first half. Classmate Meg Raskin played the second half and finished with two saves.
Tufts travels to Williams College for conference play on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The Camels are back in action also on Wednesday hosting Trinity College at 7 p.m.
