MEDFORD - Tufts junior Allyson Fournier (South Windsor, CT) and senior Lauren Giglio (Niskayuna, NY) each allowed three hits as the Jumbos handed Endicott College a pair of shutouts, 1-0 and 3-0, in collegiate softball action played at Spicer Field Tuesday afternoon.
In game one, Michelle Cooprider (Hopkinton, MA) led off the bottom of the first inning with a single to left field. Cooprider stole second and then advanced to third on senior Sara Hedtler's (Wrentham, MA) bunt single. The Jumbos took a 1-0 lead when Cooprider got out of a rundown on a throwing error by Endicott. That run would be enough to hold on for the game one victory.
Fournier struck out 13, allowed no walks and improved to 13-0 as eight Jumbos combined for nine hits in game one.
Katherine Clark (2-4) took the loss for Endicott.
Giglio continued the impressive pitching in game two as she improved to 12-1 on the season, striking out five batters in the complete-game shutout.
Leigh Wyman took the loss for the Gulls allowing two runs and four walks in 3.2 innings pitched. Courtney Blake pitched 2.1 innings of relief, allowing two hits and one run.
The Jumbos took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when senior Jo Clair hit her 13th homer of the year to left field.

Both would move up a base as Chrissie Massrey (San Juan Capistrano, CA) walked followed by a bases loaded walk by Carrie Copacino (Newton, MA) giving the Jumbos a 2-0 lead.
Cassie Ruscz (Wolcott, CT) singled in the fifth, advanced to third on Marshall's double and scored on an error, giving the Jumbos a 3-0 advantage.
